Just a quick note to celebrate that we had 80 boxes brought in for Operation Christmas Child! I am so excited to be a part of a church that loves children around the world in this way! Way to go everybody!I'd also like to say a special thank you to Mike Downs who organized this year's project! Thank you Mike!On Wednesday, Mike and Steve Caler took our boxes to a church in Rancho Cordova where they will be put together with boxes from other churches in Sacramento and then sent around the world! This Christmas there will be children around the world who will hear about the love of Jesus because of your gifts!
Last Saturday our church had a fantastic day gathering together at Apple Hill. The weather was perfect, the apple pie was delicious, and the kids had a great time too. My guess is that about 60 or 70 of us were there at some point. I am really glad our family skipped a make up soccer game so we could enjoy having lunch with so many people from our church. It reminded me of how much I love the people in our church and how encouraging everyone is. My son, Liam, and I also had a great time walking through the "maze." The maze was really just a bunch of trees and a trail, but we had fun walking and talking and sharing a moment together. I've already heard from several people that they want us to go up together again next year. We'll definitely do that!Each month we are planning a fun activity for our church to gather together and invite friends to. Our next gathering is on Wednesday, December 10th, when we'll go ice skating together in Old Town Folsom. I am really looking forward to showing my sons how to ice skate. After Christmas, we are planning a snow day on Satruday, January 31st, when we'll gather together at snow park and lodge. It'll be a great chance to enjoy the snow together as a church family! Make sure and mark your calendar for this upcoming gatherings! If you have any good ideas for a church gathering please let me know! We are thinking of going bowling together sometime.
