On Sunday, October 4th our church family made our annual trek up to Apple Hill. We gathered at Honey Bear Ranch because it's quieter than High Hill and a lot of fun for the kids. It was surprisingly cold when the clouds were overhead as it had just snowed at 4500 feet. Every time the sun came out from behind the clouds we would all rush out into the sunlight to get warmed up.
Our family had a great time as we spent most of the afternoon eating, playing, and talking with all of our friends from church. We took home a couple of pieces of fresh apple pie and kept praising God for the beauty of the Sierras.

My kids had a great time too. They spent the afternoon having duels with balloon swords, getting their face painted, and bouncing around in potato sack races.
These kinds of church gatherings came about because we realized many people make annual trip to places like Apple Hill. So why not go together and multiply the fun. Our next gathering is coming up Sunday, November 1st when we go roller skating. My kids love roller skating and so I am sure it will be another fun afternoon.
